Letter from Elder Peacock...6/20/2011

Yeah, I have to be old...darn.  I guess I turn 20 this week and I don´t really have a choice in the matter.  I use to like adding another year to the alotment of ones I already had, but 19 to 20 is a huge change.  It is really weird I didn´t realize how much I liked the teen numbers, but oh well.  This week was a good week.  I met some really awesome people and some people that.....just liked to talk a lot and hit my companion.  We will start with that story.

So on Thursday we had a meeting with a less active member at the chapel, so we started for the chapel.  We got waved down by this lady and I thought, "Cool, she wants to talk to us...she looks kind of nice."  So we started talking to her and she told us how she had met the Elders before...skip ahead an hour and a half...she is still talking...about what...I don´t know...I gave up 45 minutes ago.  So the first thing she finally let´s us say we tell her, here is our number, we really got to go we have an appointment and we are late.  So Elder Wheatley tried to hand here a book about the restoration...she grabbed his arm and started squeezing it really hard, so he stepped back and moved his arm away she replied by slapping him and says that he shouldn´t do that.  Really strange, so we left the book and starting walking away...she followed us for 10 more minutes and kept talking.  Finally we made it to our lesson and had an amazing lesson with a great presence of the Spirit.  We learned patience that day.  It was actually quite funny, especially when she hit him.  But we had an awesome week, and marked a baptism.  I met 2 of the greatest people on Saturday at our street meeting and talked to them for a good little while.  One guy was awesome asking so many amazing questions, "So, these people in the Book of Mormon are Prophets?"  "So, Joseph Smith translated these gold plates that he got from the Prophet Mormon who abriged the BOM?"  "How can I know Joseph Smith really did this?"  It was awesome!  He was one of the coolest guys I have met -- good week in Matosinhos!  Basically said good bye to President and Sister Walton this week because they leave July 1 and we had our last training with them, it was hard to say good bye, they are so awesome -- some of the nicest, most loving people I know.  I am going to miss them a lot.  They are going to Angola now.

But I hope all is well.  Sounds like everybody had a fun week with their adventures.  Glad they enjoyed Scout Camp, Trek, and Lindon Pool.  Have a good week.  Send my love when you see everyone in St. George.  That is going to be so awesome for G & G Carr.  I love you!

Love,

Elder Peacock
